SkyWest/UAL Passenger Makes Bomb Threat on Flight from Chicago to Traverse City, Michigan

Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan was shut down after a SkyWest/United Airlines flight (UAL 6036) from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Cherry Capital Airport was reported to have a passenger threatening that he had a bomb. A male passenger from California, estimated to be in his late 30’s was arrested and taken in custody with handcuffs after he locked himself in the bathroom and said he had an explosive device.

A bomb-sniffing dog searched all passenger bags, and passengers were interviewed about the incident.

No explosive device was found. flight resumed at Cherry capital Airport by 12:00 ET.

United Airlines spokeswoman Sarah Massier said there was a “disruptive passenger” on the flight that departed from O’Hare International Airport in Chicago — no word on claim about the passenger saying there was an explosive device.
