The American-born spokesman for al-Qaida, Adam Gadahn, 31, has been arrested by Pakistani intelligence officers in Karachi, according to Pakistani officials. The word of his arrest, reported to have occurred in the past few days, occurred just after a video was released showing him urging U.S. Muslims to attack their own country. U.S. defense and intelligence officials have not verified the report from Pakistan.

The Taliban’s top military commander Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the No.2 behind Afghan Taliban founder Mullah Mohammad Omar and a close associate of Osama bin Laden, was captured in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi. He was arrested in a joint CIA-Pakistani operation in Pakistan.
Baradar was held 10 days ago with the assistance of the United States and ‘was talking’ to his interrogators.
