Record Low Support or Afghanistan War, But Obama Says U.S. On Track

Declaring significant progress in disrupting al-Qaida and combatting the Taliban, President Barack Obama said Thursday the United States will start withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan in July as promised.

American public support for the US-led war in Afghanistan reached a record low, according to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll.

The ABC News/Washington Post poll, released Thursday, found a record 60 percent of Americans say the war has not been “worth fighting” and 43 percent of those report they feel that way “strongly.”

Also from the poll, 34 percent feel the war has been worth fighting, either strongly or somewhat.
