On April 4, 2022, Patrick Lyoya, a 26-year-old black man was fatally shot during a prolonged scuffle with a Grand Rapids police officer after fleeing a traffic stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. Lyoya was unarmed, but was grabbing for the police officer’s taser. The Michigan State Police are investigating the shooting. Cell phone video of the shooting (YouTube).
