Intense Screening Will Remain Elevated for Travelers from 14 Nations

Responding to the security threat of the Northwest Airlines Flight 253 bomber on Christmas Day, all travelers flying into the U.S. from 14 nations considered high risk will be patted down and have carry-on luggage searched indefinitely under new security procedures decision starting Monday, according to TSA.

TSA: Newark Terminal Locked Down After Man Walked Through Wrong Side of Checkpoint Exit

Newark Liberty International Airport — the second-largest hub for Continental Airlines — was locked down after an unidentified man walk through the wrong side of a checkpoint exit Sunday night. Passengers who already achieved the ‘sterile’ side of the checkpoint had to be re-checked. Flights could be delayed by about two hours.
