Riots in Haiti Against United Nations Peacekeepers As Cholera Climbs Over 1,000



More than 1,000 people have now been killed in the cholera outbreak, which the UN says is now being used for political reasons because of forthcoming elections.

Some Haitians are blaming the Nepalese peacekeepers for the deadly cholera virus.

SUN DEC 17 2010 — A looter was shot and killed by Haiti police Sunday as hundreds of rioters and looters invaded a market Marche Hyppolite.

Police Shooting at Looters in Port au Prince, Haiti (VIDEO)



Raw Video of crowds in downtown Port au Prince with uniform police firing weapons toward crowd (gun shots appear just after 1:18 elapsed time).

Hundreds of mostly young men and boys climb over crumbled wall One police officer shoots straight up in the air with a handgun about 45 degrees overhead and another shoots with a rifle angled less than 30 degrees above the heads of fleeing crowds.

Nobody appeared to be injured from gunshots during the time that the video was captured. A reporter (apparently) is heard asking police ‘What are your orders?”

How much U.S. money in foreign assistance has gone to Haiti in past years?
FOXNEW HAPPENING NOW segment is reporting today that nearly $3 billion in taxpayer money/foreign assistance has gone to Haiti since 1992.

Military Relief for Haiti: What Military Units Are Committed to Haiti


Military relief flights to Haiti are being coordinated at the 618th Tanker Airlift Control Center Scott Air Force Base in Illinois — near St. Louis, Missouri. The heavily damaged airport in Port-au-Prince that can’t accept the military’s largest transport planes. However, military commanders plan to fly in relief crews and ferry some of the most critically injured to the U.S. for treatment.

Earthquake Aftermath Violence: Gangs Armed with Machetes Loot Streets in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti


Looting has emerged in the aftermath of a 7.0 magnitude earthquake center just southwest of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Apparently the looting is limited to Port-au-Prince’s old commercial center — an area that would be filled with many shops, markets and a few homes. Wednesday the area had reported sightings of gangs of young men with machetes. The armed young men were seen entering stores and taking all the supplies they could carry. Gangs were seen in fierce competition walking up and down streets with machetes held up in the air. Fights involving machetes were reported. No sign of police or military in the area.
