A female suicide bomber detonated her explosives-laden vest killing at least 43 people at an aid distribution center in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday.
The female suicide bomber dressed in a Burqa tossed grenades at police before she got close to a crowd of people and blew herself up. The explosion occurred in Khar, the main town of lawless Bajaur tribal district, once a stronghold of Taliban militants.
There are three main tribes in Bajaur: Utman Khel, Tarkalanri, and Mamund. The largest tribe is Utman Khel, judged by population or territory. The Utman Khel are at the southeast of Bajaur, while Mamund are at the southwest, and the Tarkani are at the north of Bajaur. Its border with Afghanistan’s Kunar province makes it of strategic importance to Pakistan and the region.

The blasts occurred on points on a road only 200 meters apart in the capital city Mehtar Lam of Laghman province. NATO troops and police frequently travel on the road where the attacks are suspected of being the result of bicycle-riding suicide bombers.
The first suspected suicide bomber detonated near a public hospital and a police post around 9:30 a.m. (12:30 a.m. ET). Three civilians were killed and 25 people were injured, including one police officer.
The second alleged suicide attack injured 11 civilians.
Two female suicide bombers detonated blasts during morning rush hour in central Moscow. The first explosion was at the Lubyanka metro station near the headquarters of the Russian State Security Service FSB (Federal Security Service), formerly known as the Soviet KGB. The second blast came 40 minutes later at the Park Kultury station near Gorky Amusement Park.
A suicide bomber has attacked a police building in Lahore used to interrrogate suspects. At least 15 people were killed and at least 70 injured in Monday’s blast. Women were among the wounded. The Taliban in Pakistan has claimed responsibility. The attack on the Special Intelligence Agency (SIA) office in Model Town on Monday is the first terrorist attack in the city in 2010.

Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi blew himself up inside a gym in Forward Operating base Chapman in Khost province in southeast Pakistan.
A suicide bomber targeted pro-government militia commander Nasir Paray and detonated his suicide bomb vest in a southeastern provincial capital, Gardez of Patkia Province on Thursday, Ten people (including the commander and 4 childeren) were killed and 27 people (mostly civilians) were injured about 50 miles south Kabul.

Villagers watching a volleyball match between two village teams were killed and injured when a suicide bomber drove a vehicle into the crowd and detonated a bomb. The bomb was possibly retaliation for a militia that was set up to expel Taliban militants. The bomb killed at least 96 people.
